Aasen is located picturesque northeast of the city center of Donaueschingen, situated in a valley and hillside area of the layered landscape that runs through here.

The district is still predominantly rural in structure, with agriculture maintaining significant importance. However, the village character is gradually being pushed back. The establishment of a new commercial area has greatly improved local job opportunities—Aasen is considered a “commuter town,” with more jobs available than residents working locally. Thanks to its charming location, Aasen has become one of the preferred residential districts of the city. Known as the “eco-village,” it is characterized by its natural landscape, tree-lined avenues, and traditional orchard meadows. To the south, just outside the district, lies an extensive golf course area and a large accompanying hotel complex, developed as part of a land consolidation project that began in 1966. Aasen’s Elferrat (council of eleven) is composed exclusively of women. Through a “Future Workshop,” the district is actively preparing for the challenges ahead.

Attraction: The golf course and golf hotel at Öschberg, featuring two Michelin-starred restaurants—one with one star and the other with two stars. The entire Baar region comes together at the Aasen village festival, held annually in early September, which attracts people of all ages with its special charm.

The connection to the A81 motorway is in close proximity.
