Schwenningen is part of the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis region and is located in the southwest of the state. It is a district of the twin town of Villingen-Schwenningen and, together with Villingen, forms the regional center of the region. Geographically, Schwenningen is located on the edge of the Black Forest, around 700 meters above sea level. The Neckar river flows through the town, which is an important artery here.

Schwenningen has a long history as an industrial location. The watchmaking and mechanical engineering industries in particular shaped the development of the town. Today, Schwenningen is a modern center for technology and innovation. The town has a well-developed infrastructure with many stores, restaurants, schools and leisure facilities. The townscape is characterized by a mixture of historical architecture and modern buildings. There are several parks and green spaces that invite you to relax and unwind.
