7,500 € in donations for the Feldner Mühle – We say THANK YOU!

Once again this year, we were able to support the Feldner Mühle in addition to our Christmas campaign “Donations instead of presents”. We are delighted with you!
Mrs. Mäder, manager of the Feldner Mühle, is overwhelmed by this campaign:
“There are currently 5 children aged between 6 and 12 and a young mother with her 3-year-old child in our care. The children were taken into care from their families of origin by the youth welfare office because their upbringing and development was not guaranteed in their families. Some of the children have experienced traumatizing situations in their past. We offer these children a safe place where they can process these situations and learn how to deal with them. The young mother learns in her everyday life with us what it means to raise a child, to live a structured life and to be prepared for an independent life with her child.
Our animals are firmly integrated into the daily routine with the children. They act as listeners, comforters, strong shoulders, but also show rules and boundaries.
In short: life is finally back in the “Bude” ;-). You can imagine life at the mill like in a big farm family. This includes everything from looking after the animals, doing homework, studying for class tests, shopping, washing mountains of laundry, braiding hair and enduring difficult situations together.
The children come to us without much background information. We pick them up where they are, take them by the hand and decide together who needs what to calm down and process what they have experienced. I hope I have been able to give you a little insight into our “mill life”.
Corona and some structural requirements & repairs have unfortunately used up all our reserves. We are therefore delighted about the great campaign and the repeated support from Werner Wohnbau, its business partners and friends! This will enable us to fulfill some of the children’s wishes and hopefully soon strengthen our team to better serve the children with their special needs.
MANY THANKS for this!”
Yours, Katrin Mäder
