Location description
Gittersee combines the character of a former village with a quiet residential location on the outskirts of the city. Historically, Gittersee is primarily known for coal and later uranium mining. Today, slag heaps, former mining facilities, and the historic Windbergbahn railway still serve as reminders of this era. Karlsruher Straße is a well-developed residential and collector road with excellent connections to public transport. Tram and several bus stops provide a direct link to Dresden city center, which can be reached in approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Furthermore, the street is well-suited for cycling.
