Location description
The municipality is situated in a rural setting surrounded by meadows, fields, and forests, in the Franconian Switzerland region, northeast of Erlangen and southeast of Forchheim. Due to its proximity to the cities of Forchheim, Erlangen, and Nuremberg, Effeltrich is significant both as a rural residential area and for commuters.
